... that it had at this time left Taurus and had reached a point demonstrated by the Horn of Cetus, namely the star Alpha Ceti, which to-day attains this position, not on March 21, but on May 5-6, and denotes a period in the calendar which mystified Sir Norman Lockyer, who found the orientation of the old circle at Stonehenge apparently devised for this date, and the same thing appears in the alignment of stones at Keswick Circle, for, after all, May 6 is not a period either of the Equinoxes of the Solstices, equal day and equal night, or the longest and shortest days. What it seems to show is that the original orientation pointed ...

... Pennines, indicating trade routes. A new stone circle has been discovered near Callanish in Scotland, overlooking the famous standing stones. The circle is larger than those previously found and its stones, up to 12 feet high, were propped up by other stones as its situation on a rocky outcrop made burial impossible. Laser scanning of stones at Stonehenge has revealed more carvings of axes. The carvings are dated to around 1800 BC by the design of the axes, which is supposedly a long time after the stones were erected. Similar axe carvings have been found associated with important burials at Argyll, Scotland. An archaeologist has suggested that they were symbols of power and prestige connected to ...
... and thus have taught the benighted natives the rudiments of Egyptian civilization. Because gold, amber, and jet have been found in the round barrows of Wiltshire, and because these round barrow folk were aliens, he proposes that they came from Egypt-of which there is no evidence- or some other country influenced by Egypt, and were buried around Stonehenge together with their treasures.1 The people who used round or disc barrows appear to have invaded from the direction of the Rhine, and are found in most parts of this country.2 Perry's arguments give the impression of a striving to distort facts to fit an untenable theory. Gold, amber, and jet were all native to ...

... on Velikovskian lines, of the frontiers of Paradise; dear Shulamit, translator of your father's work for the country of his choice. As an old friend of Velikovsky, who sent him tit-bits of confirmation throughout the last twenty-five years of his life - and queries which he answered to my complete satisfaction (on calendars, on Homer, on Stonehenge …) I wish I could hear viva voce all you have to say about the changes in planetary orbits and in the earth's axis after near collisions; about the geological and dendrological evidence of recent catastrophes of extraterrestrial origin; about the electromagnetic forces which play so vital a role in Velikovsky's cosmological scenario, and about the fascinating interplay between ...

... is associated with a series of flat, carved stone structures, six lines of standing and toppled megaliths and two buried megalithic sculptures in southern Egypt's Nabta Playa 100 kilometers (62 miles) west of Abu Simbel. Radiocarbon dating indicated the structures were in 4,500 B. C. sedimentary layers, at least a thousand years older than Stonehenge in England. Nabta Playa is rich in prehistoric remains of the early Holocene age when there was rain and a lake, but no skeletal human remains have ever been found. Nabta circle schematic © Thomas G. Brophy Professor Wendorf and his astronomer colleague, Professor J. McKim Malville, reported that. "Five megalithic alignments at Nabta ...

... (Volume XV)Contents Michael G. Reade: The Ninsianna tablets, a preliminary reconstruction 2 Working on the assumption that the data recorded on the so-called Venus Tablets of Ammisaduqa' are accurate, Michael Reade reconstructs the ancient era of their observations, which seems to coincide with that of the Panchasiddhantika and the construction of megalithic monuments such as Stonehenge. The reality of a one-time 360 day year is confirmed. The Ninsianna tablets record a series of catastrophes of extra-terrestrial origin in which Earth's spin rate altered and there was a mild Solar System expansion. Ian C. Johnson: Anomalous Occurrence of Crocodilia in Eocene Polar Forests 7 The second of two articles on the curious flora and fauna ...
