... and motions of the planet Venus in conjunction with those of Mars. Page 107: The Hero's Garment Marinus Anthony van der Sluijs A study concerning the various types of garments described as having been worn by the universal mythological hero-a topic which is often glossed over, when not entirely overlooked, by modern mythologists-and how these might be explained as once-visible plasma phenomena associated with the planet Mars. Page 119: Forget Amnesia Henry Zemel In which Immanuel Velikovsky's theory of collective amnesia is re-examined. ... third larger than usual, to accommodate all the material. Intersect 2001 I was fortunate enough to attend the Intersect 2001 conference myself for which I thank my wife, Caroline, who practically ignored my excuses, and booked up my tickets. The conference focussed on three areas: (1 ) The Saturn Theory (2 ) The Electric / Plasma Universe, and new to most, (3 ) Biological and extra-sensory phenomena. The Saturn Theory (the idea that the Earth was once a satellite of Saturn) is considered by many people to be balderdash, even to some of the open minded readers of this publication! And not being content with such a controversial theory, proponents ...

... it to a lower, more useful household voltage. Likewise, stellar transformers convert the lethal power of galactic cosmic rays to a more benign level of radiation conducive to life. Naturally, at this early stage, many of the ideas expressed are speculative. But I am convinced that the sun exhibits all of the complex phenomena associated with a plasma discharge. Based on the standard solar theory, Fred Hoyle wrote in Frontiers of Astronomy, 1955, p.106: "We should expect on the basis of a straightforward calculation that the Sun would end' itself in a simple and rather prosaic way; that with increasing height above the photosphere the density of the solar material would ...

... stage, much of it is visual, an artists' rendition that precedes the mathematical development. See? If you think of the galaxy as an electrical circuit, the images fall into place: they're echoed on every scale, from lightning scars on Earth to arachnoid webs on Venus to the icy patchwork of Europa. The phenomena found in plasma labs provide a visual connection between comet tails, coronal mass ejections, machined craters, planetary nebulae, and galactic jets. In the behavior of the comet Shoemaker-Levi-9 you can see a mini-version of the polar configuration and its break-up. The math is in progress. If history can be used to predict the future, I expect that the ...

... the geological works because the same findings on Earth have been interpreted in terms of polar wandering and continental drift. Mars shows no signs of tectonic activity (continental drift). I expect patterns of radioactivity, isotopic anomalies, remanent magnetism and glass surrounding craters and the great "volcanoes" that can be easily explained by their formation in a plasma arc. My suggestion is that laboratory experiments be performed using clays similar in composition to Martian rocks and soil and subject them to electric arcs and sensitively measure the effects. If that can be done before experiments are performed in situ on Mars, we should be able to make more specific predictions about what will be found. To me ...

... . The ratio of the magnetic to electric force is v2:c2, where c is the velocity of light. If v is 10% of c, the force of attraction would be only 1% of the force of repulsion. However if there are also positive ions in the channel, the electrical repulsion is reduced and in a plasma with equal positive and negative charges the magnetic force is dominant and the current path would be a filament with electrons and positive ions travelling in opposite directions. Positive ions of, for example, nitrogen and oxygen, have a mass of about 30,000 times that of an electron, and even if each ion has several electronic charges ...

... 2 (Sep 2001) Home | Issue Contents Verbal Vignette MEL ACHESON: Mel reminded us that gravity is a theory. Stars, for instance, repudiate gravity, solar prominences disobey [see Velikovsky's comments in Cosmos without Gravitation, at www.varchive.org/ce/cosmos.htm]. The Gravitation Constant is like a dancing plasma. Herodotus says that "Thunderbolts steer the universe". Like Newton, Herodotus would have seen apples fall from trees, but did not consider the observation significant to his view. Likewise, Newton would have seen lightning, but not considered the observation significant to his view of gravity. ...

... The evidence he cites for support has no bearing on the theory. The work of E. J. Saxl that originally motivated Ginenthal's theory is shown to be fatally flawed and unsuited for studying gravity. The electrical interaction between Sun and planets posited by Ginenthal cannot occur because of the isolating effects of space charge sheaths on charged bodies in a plasma, which R. E. Juergens first discussed in 1972 in Pensee II. While the convection of electric charge, also first discussed by Juergens in Pensee VII, is a likely explanation for Saxl's anomalous results, it cannot account for millisecond changes in Earth's rotation because impossibly large electric charge is required.
