... of marketing analysis of the topic or a personal essay in cultural history. Consequently, although the reader will find many radical ideas being presented here, they should be seen as offshoots of a single global approach which is a psychosocial theory about the origin of our greatest ideologies. The topic is vast and I can provide only the quickest run-through in the space of an article, but it should be sufficient to establish the central points. Introduction The two greatest kinds of belief which our species has been able to produce are religion and cosmology. In many instances in the past these have amounted to more or less the same thing. Nevertheless, I see cosmology as dealing with how we think the Universe is structured and functions, whereas religion is concerned to discover the fundamental meaning behind the structure. Both, however, try to tell us how to behave so that we can relate successfully to the cosmos or the divine. In our modern culture, we have called religion metaphysics and cosmology physics, by which we indicate that we believe religion is given by intuition ...

... (together with the “Thunderbolts” DVD), are superb introductions to this wide-ranging subject. The forthcoming monograph, The Electric Universe (Wallace Thornhill and David Talbott), will round out the introductory presentations, with much additional material to follow. The Thunderbolts team is dedicated to providing our visitors with a growing repertoire of support materials. Suggestions and requests will be welcome. THE ELECTRIC SKY By Donald Scott A retired professor of Electrical Engineering, Dr. Scott has produced 256 pages of compelling material on the Electric Universe and plasma cosmology. His insights, punctuated by a delightful sense of humor, expose the sensational and fantastical constructs of "gravity only" cosmology, replacing them with lucid and down-to-earth explanations of space age findings. From start to finish, this book is grounded in a practical understanding of electric currents in plasma. Dr Scott systematically unravels the myths of “Big Bang” cosmology, and he does so without resorting to black holes, dark matter, dark energy, neutron stars, magnetic “reconnection,” or any other fictions needed to ...

... From: Kronos Vol. XII No. 3 (Spring 1988) Home¦ Issue Contents Quantitative Aspects Of Ancient Cosmology George Robert Talbott INTRODUCTION In an earlier issue of KRONOS (1) I had cause to reference Neugebauer's The Exact Sciences in Antiquity,(2) and I discussed his anti-Platonic bias as well as his unsupported low opinion of Egyptian mathematics. Another and still more blatant case of prejudice is found in Richard J. Gillings' book Mathematics in the Time of the Pharaohs. (3) This prejudice attains an unbelievable climax in Gillings' APPENDIX 3, "Great Pyramid Mysticism". Like Neugebauer's book, that of Gillings contains important data where the author is factual. Neugebauer and Gillings remind me of Alexander of Macedon who while burning cities and their inhabitants, still travelled with a clique of scholars who gathered useful information about foreign lands. Too bad Tyre could not have been studied without being burned to the ground. Divested of their high-handed mockery and derision, both Neugebauer and Gillings are worth reading. What puzzles me about Neugebauer's assertions on ...

65. The "Iron Sun" Debate (1) [Thunderbolts Website]
... operated in the way it advertises, the search for the truth in this essential matter would involve a concentration of resources to confirm or deny the evidence amassed by the Iron Sun proponents. The questions raised are crucial whether or not the proposed model of the Sun is correct. Yet there seems to be pressure on researchers to have a model at hand to explain "anomalous" results. In the case of the “Iron Sun”, the result is less than perfect because there is a flaw at the very heart of popular cosmology: All matter in the universe is composed of electric charge. The electric force between charges mediates all physical interactions, irrespective of scale. It is the electric force that energizes matter. By ignoring electricity, cosmologists have committed an error so fundamental that the mistake invariably propagates through any and all of their theoretical excursions. The electrical theorists see this as the overriding cause of the oft-noted “crisis in cosmology”, and the effects on related disciplines bound as they are by the assumptions of cosmologists have been nothing less ...

... equilibrium giving rise to new species by a contrived and unspecified mechanism of jump-starts has prompted the orthodox Darwinists to consider the GouldEldredge school as something approaching closet Marxism, in spite of the fact that no consensus whatsoever of any mechanism for speciation has yet appeared. Needless to say, the fossil problem has gotten worse instead of better. Moreover, there is still the prototypical challenge of when and where life itself began, for which no jump-start mechanisms have been successfully elucidated. The "anthropic principle"-- imported from the science of cosmology-- says that, since we are at this moment considering the question, it is self-evident that life did indeed have at least one initiating origin. And yet, when we find evidences for cellular life some four billion years ago, with the preceding emergence of self-replicating molecules and the subsequent development of cellular infrastructure, evolution had to have occurred and proceeded rapidly within a relatively brief geological period. A zoologist, Richard Dawkins, whose 1986 book The Blind Watchmaker is a clarion call for atheistic biology, also proclaimed an intolerance ...
