In his note on this word he mentions only first millennium occurrences. One expects a citation to its Mari and Ugaritic cognates (JNES, 30, 1971, pp. 196-97, and New Bible Dictionary, 1982, pp. 637, 736). On page 42 n. 11 luSA.GAZmes should be lúSA.GAZme s and a regrettable slip of the pen on p. 53 mars the H in H abiru. Anyone who looks at Worlds in Collision cannot miss the fact that here is something really sensational, evidently too much so for the scientists. One cannot miss the fact that this book is based on studies in mythologies, the Bible more than any other source. Using such materials to support a scientific position was quite foreign to the usual research methods. I suppose the scientists felt threatened by it.
